White Chocolate: Health Benefits and Characteristics - Venchi (2024)

White chocolate ingredients

White chocolate is made from a combination of three simple ingredients: cocoa butter, no less than 20%, sugar, and milk or milk-based products – at least 14% to achieve the right taste and consistency.
These percentages can vary from product to product. For example, our white chocolate bar (3.52oz) contains 30.5% cocoa butter, 49.4% sugar, and 15% whole milk powder.

Thanks to its color and sweet taste, white chocolate is often used for making desserts and frosting.
In cooking, it pairs perfectly with food characterized by acidic or sapid notes, creating a new balance of flavors. Examples include nuts, berries, and spices.

Is white chocolate unhealthy?

Whilst white chocolate lacks cocoa powder, from which other chocolate gets many of its beneficial properties, it does not contain nervine stimulants so is perfect for children and people sensitive to caffeine.

As it contains milk powder, white chocolate is also much richer in calcium and vitamins B2 and B3 compared to dark chocolate, substances that are good for our bodies and especially important during growth.
What’s more, the retinol content— an ingredient used in many skincare products—is a powerful ally that stimulates epidermal elasticity and collagen production, helps maintain a radiant complexion, and revitalizes melanin to counteract the appearance of dark spots.

Since white chocolate is rich in sugar, it is not recommended for people with high levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in their blood and is, of course, not suitable for those who are lactose intolerant.

Our salted white chocolate bar is an explosion of flavor, combining white chocolate with lightly salted almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts to create an unexpected contrast.
For a unique appetizer, serve with a glass of bubbly!
