Synopsis

George Floyd and the Rise of BLM

In the aftermath of George Floyd’s death, the media concocted a narrative that justified a summer of worldwide riots and helped contribute to the rise of Black Lives Matter who used the chaos to raise 90 million dollars. In this documentary, Candace Owens follows the money and discovers exactly how the money was spent and where it did—and didn’t go.

I don’t care if you’re on the left or the right, organisations scamming people and media manipulation shouldn’t be considered political issues.

Watched this out of sheer curiosity about how bad a Candace Owens directed “documentary” could possibly be, and it’s about as evil and dishonest as I expected. It presents itself as an investigation into the BLM organization — but like every conservative narrative these days, its real intention is denouncing the supposed evil-elitist-leftist cabal which rules over our media with an iron fist to push its agenda of violence and criminality. “You have been tricked into believing George Floyd is your saviour!”, Owens says.

So what hard-hitting evidence does she provide here? None, of course. All relevant evidence agrees that George Floyd was murdered by Derek Chauvin. Nobody thinks Floyd was a “saint” or “angel”, as Owens’ tired narrative claims…

Yup, I’m going there. Yet another doc by the DW, yet this time, it’s exposing a big lie, a destructive lie. I’m a huge fan of Candace Owens herself, and this was amazing. Great work.

Alright, here we go again, watching another one of these Daily Wire documentaries so I can periodically pause it every time it makes a stupid point and debunk it, frame by frame. I’ve seen enough content from Candace Owens and the rest of her DW adjacent colleagues to already take a guess on what the documentary is going to be about, and based on the title alone, I’m going to assume that Candace Owens elects to spend her entire time perseverating on things related to Black Lives Matter the organization, and then conflating the antics of the founders of that organization as synonymous with Black Lives Matter the movement, to disregard the movement itself entirely, and its broader messages. Also,…

    another curious object.

none in and of itself; it’s unvarnished horsesh*t, distortions, and naked bizarro-logic whataboutism hiding behind grievance, which is what most of the content made by this realm always is. no one watches Candace Owens for her insightful commentary on policy. it’s something manufactured to give thoughtless traditionalists feelings like “cops are good, and they’re not crippled by corruption, racism, and their own influence peddling, and the people they’re hurting deserve it” which is the sort of thing a five year old in any major city can figure out isn’t remotely true, but people who flock to this kind of content believe with an almost religious zeal.

but of course, I’m examining the object here, not the contents.…

    Right wing documentaries:

Step 1: Create a straw man
Step 2: Argue against that straw man and focus exclusively on minor details while ignoring the bigger picture

  • Review by Lauren Noelle ★★★★ 3

I found this to be a compassionate look at drug addiction and the way that George Floyd’s addiction and subsequent death was leveraged and taken advantage of for monetary gain. Super unfortunate situation for all involved, and I appreciated Floyd’s former roommates being involved in this project and the perspectives they brought.

A safe space comfort blanket for people so racist and delusional that they do not believe their own eyes. People who are convinced by this also believe litter boxes are set up in schools for furry students. Most likely their close family no longer speaks to them and instead of joining a book club they join an alt-right facebook group and believe whatever was on Tucker Carlson the night before.

    Y’all got scammed

  • Review by Kirk ★★★★

Not as good as what is a woman but still very informative. I would have liked to see them further explore the organization itself but seeing how little information there was it made sense to follow the people around the topic. Daily wire documentaries are 2-0

  • Review by Hunter Dean ★★★★½

Great doc about where the $90 million raised by BLM after the death of George Floyd went. Very interesting.
