    The city centre of Venice is a car-free, entirely pedestrian area; nevertheless, anybody coming to Venice by car can reach its outer city limit called Piazzale Roma and leave the car there in one of the parking garages listed below or on the nearby island of Tronchetto

    La Fenice Opera House has two entrances:
    – the stage door is for theatre staff and performers only and is attended by a doorman;
    – the main entrance is for our paying guests, visitors on guided tours, and people who wish to purchase tickets for performances or souvenirs at the theatre bookshops or simply ask for information at our Information Desk.

    The boxes, gallery and family circle can be reached via elevators. Our ushers will gladly show you the way to your seats by escorting you there.

    Seasonal high tide

    La Fenice Theater is situated in one of the lowest areas of Venice. Therefore we recommend that our customers and guests bring along or actually wear rubber boots or waders any time the tide is expected to reach or surpass 100 cm. Performances will be cancelled in case of exceptionally high water levels (140 cm above the mean sea level).

    Please feel free to visit the Municipality of Venice Centro Maree (tide forecasting center) website, where you can download an appprovidingreal-time updates of forecasted water levels for all the six districts of Venice (“sestieri”).

    Spectators wearing shorts, tank tops and flip-flops are not allowed at any event.
    Fine attire is preferable.

    The openings of the Opera and Concerts seasons usually also require evening dress.

    For the following dates, i.e. repeats, and for afternoon performances, a casual dress code is proper. Jeans are also permitted.

    In the auditorium, ushers will show you to your seat and are on hand for any questions or needs.

    CLOAKROOM

    The stalls have a cloakroom that you may use free of charge. Boxes have their own private cloakrooms. Bulky objects such as umbrellas, big bags, cameras and other items must be left with the cloakroom attendants.

    PERFORMANCE PROGRAMMES

    Programmes can be purchased from ushers in the auditorium and foyers.
    Programmes are priced at € 10 for each opera of the season.
    Ballets and New Year’s Concert are priced € 5.
    The Symphonic’s season programme is priced € 15.
    Programmes for current and past seasons can be purchased from ourbookshop.

    SUBTITLES

    You can read the Opera libretto on a display over the stage. Italian and English subtitles are available for all of the season’s operas. For operas in French, German and Spanish, the original version is also displayed. La Fenice Opera House is a Baroque Italian Theater, so, in some cases there are low Visibility Seats, for example Loggione or Galleria.

    ACCESS

    The theatre complies with all legal regulations regarding “special needs” accessibility. Special needs persons and their attendants can access the theatre via an elevator located on the ground floor on Calle de La Fenice.
    We kindly ask anyone interested in availing theirselves of this service to make their request in advance by calling at + 39 041 786511 so that we can notify the appropriate staff members, who will be happy to guide you through the Theatre.

    EXCEPTIONAL SEASONAL HIGH TIDE

    La Fenice Opera House is situated in one of the lowest-lying areas of Venice.     MOBILE PHONES AND AUDIO/VIDEO RECORDING DEVICES

    The use of mobile phones, cameras with or without flash and audio/video recording devices is not permitted in the auditorium.

    DRESS CODE
    On the Opening Night of the Season, black tie (tuxedo) is recommended.
    On the other première nights a formal dress is recommended for ladies and suit and tie for gentlemen.
    On the other evenings, button-down, shirt and jeans are allowed.
    For the afternoon performances the dress code is fairly relaxed and is smart-casual, but PLEASE NOTE that people wearing shorts or sleeveless T-shirts will not be allowed inside the auditorium; in this case, tickets will not be reimbursed.

    Access with a wheelchair is possible in all sectors of La Fenice Opera House and the stalls area of the Malibran Theater. At La Fenice Opera House two seats of the stalls and four in other areas are available (subject to availability), for disabled customers availing themselves of wheelchairs, whereas at the Malibran Theatre four seats in the stalls are reserved under the same conditions.

    When purchasing their tickets, all customers intending to avail themselves of these opportunities are kindly requested to indicate whether they will be using a wheelchair or if they will be needing a seat close to their assistant, by sending a fax to (+39) 041 786 580 or an email toinfo@teatrolafenice.orgThe price for a 100% disabled customer and their assistant corresponds to one ticket free of charge and one at full price. The Theater Management reserves the right to change the number of seats available under the above-mentioned conditions for technical reasons.

    The Fenice Administration strongly advises its customers to avoid buying tickets through unauthorized agencies (especially on-line) since some cases of tickets sold at increased prices have been discovered.

    The Fenice Administration declines any responsibility for any occurrence or inconvenience, which may result from the characteristics, quality and prices of the tickets that are not rightfully purchased via the authorized distribution channels specified in the following list or on our official website.

    In case of variations, La Fenice will take care and do everything possible to duly inform its customers. On their part our customers are kindly requested to keep themselves informed about any possible changes. Substitutions of interpreters and program as well as variations of the play, do not entitle to a refund of the ticket.

    Changes and modifications
    The Fenice Administration reserves the right to make any change regarding the seats purchased by any customer whether subscriber or standard. Moreover, the Administration reserves the right to bring about any change to the programme, date or schedule that should be deemed necessary for artistic and technical reasons or extenuating circ*mstances. To this effect the relevant communication will, in any case, be provided by on-line news or press release.
    Concerts or Opera tickets are non-refundable

    Ticket validity
    The tickets are valid exclusively to attend the performance specified therein. Whenever the tickets are not used, they are neither refundable nor substitutable.
    All prices published in the present programme include their relative taxes and charges. In case of purchase by phone or online an additional charge of 10% will be applied from 5€ to maximum 10€.
    The ticket office cannot issue any copy of the tickets. In case of their loss, another ticket shall be purchased anew.
    In the event of cancellation of a performance, the corresponding tickets shall be presented intact in all their parts within 10 days from the day of the cancelled event to one the Ticket Offices of the Fenice Opera House, Piazzale Roma, Mestre. These Offices will proceed to refund according to timing and modalities duly communicated if necessary.

    Children at Opera
    Children under the age of 4 are not admitted into the auditorium. A ticket is requested for the child.

    Behavior at Theatre
    The admission inside the Opera House is allowed starting 45 minutes before the beginning of a performance. Access to the stalls is forbidden once the performance has started. In case of late arrival, any latecomer will be accompanied to his seat during the first intermission.
    During the intermissions the restart of the performance will be announced by an acoustic signal, warning all spectators twice, respectively 10 and 5 minutes before the end of the intermission, so that they can return to their seats on time.
    The Fenice Administration kindly reminds its customers and audience that they are supposed to have their tickets or subscription certificates always with them, as these titles must be promptly shown at any request of the Opera House staff, responsible for control.
    Our customers and audience are kindly requested to occupy only their assigned seats. Out of respect for the musicians and for other customers and listeners, also considering that many performances are broadcasted live on the radio and on television, our audience is kindly requested to keep a respectful behavior and not to disturb the performance in any way.
    It is forbidden to put coats, jacket as well as any other garment on the parapet railings, onto the seat backs, as well as on other seats occasionally empty. The Fenice Opera House provides a free cloakroom service.
    The Fenice Administration declines any liability for the loss or damage occurred to objects or personal belongings left unattended inside the Opera House. In case of loss of a personal belonging, our customer can contact the n. 041 786590 from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 13.00.
    It is forbidden to use mobile phones inside the Opera House, particularly inside the stalls, the boxes and generally at any of the spectators or listeners seats and position. We kindly request anyone wearing a smartwatch to deactivate or mute its acoustic signal as well.
    It is forbidden to use any photographic equipment inside the Opera House whether with or without the flashlight. Moreover it is strictly forbidden to take any kind of recording, whether audio or video.
    According to Law N. 584/1975 it is forbidden to smoke inside every area of the Opera House.

    Miscellaneous
    In order to allow everyone to follow the story, the English translation for the whole “libretto” will be shown on a display above the stage for each Opera performance.
    The Theatre Administration, according to Legislative Decree 196/2003, guarantees the privacy of personal data and limit their use exclusively for the communications relating to activities of the Fenice Opera House itself.
    An hour before each performance representation, tickets still available will be offered on sale at a “last minute” price.
    The purchase of each ticket as well as the subscriptions, entails the acceptance of all the rules and conditions specified above.

    Shop
    La Fenice Opera House Shop, located in the Foyer on the ground floor, offers a large assortment of CDs, DVDs, books about music, articles and gifts branded “Teatro La Fenice”, making it an unmissable shopping opportunity for opera lovers and not. The Shop is open daily from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm and during performances until the first intermission.

    Cafeteria
    The Fenice Cafeteria welcomes our visitors, customers and spectators in the beautiful Apollinean rooms and in the renovated spaces of the Foyer, becoming a pleasant meeting place where to taste a wide selection of products and have a drink. The cafeteria is open during visits and performances.

    Closed on Mondays The cafeteria in the Foyer is only open during the performances.

    Guided tours
    Tours will allow visitors to discover the secrets of the Opera House and its protagonists, while learning about its history from the origins to the present.
    The Opera House can be visited everyday with an audio guide service or with an expert guide.
    The Opera House is generally open for visits every day from 9.30am to 6pm, though variations in the schedule may occur for artistic or technical reasons.
