It is a saline solution that is used to rinse the sinuses and may be able to help alleviate some of the symptoms of allergies. However, it is not a treatment for allergies and should not be used in place of proper medical care.

NeilMed Sinus Rinse Kit (for use in the nose) is used to treat stuffy nose, post-nasal drip, dryness inside your nose and nasal passages, or nasal irritation caused by colds, flu, allergies, or pollutants. This product contains a purified gentle salt solution (also called saline).

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Less serious side effects may be more likely, and you may have none at all. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur.

Therefor, these procedures allow for the saline solution to enter previously blocked sinuses and wash out infection, allergic mucus, etc. We recommend rinsing at least 4-5 times a day after sinus surgery and at least daily as maintenance.

Always Use Distilled or Micro-Filtered (through 0.2 micron) or Commercially Bottled or Previously Boiled & Cooled Down Water at Lukewarm or Body Temperature. Please do not use tap or faucet water when using NeilMed's nasal wash devices unless it has been previously boiled and cooled down.

One tip is to do your evening rinse one hour before bed. There may be some slight drainage of the solution, and it's better to catch that fluid with a Kleenex than to have it drip into the throat after lying down.
