Morehouse College Acceptance Rate (2024)

The Morehouse College acceptance rate is above 70 percent because they want to empower as many black men as possible. They’re proud to serve as the only liberal arts college exclusively for men. They’re interested in accepting males who want to follow in the footsteps of Spike Lee and other successful Morehouse men.

Applicant Selectivity: Moderately Selective

The selectivity of applicants for undergraduate admissions to Morehouse is considered moderately selective. Many accepted applicants score in the mid-range on the SAT or ACT exam, as well as having a solid high school GPA and number of college prep courses.

The acceptance rate for Morehouse College is thirty-three percent higher than the national average of all colleges which is around 57%.

General Recommendations & Requirements for Admissions

The future men of Morehouse are expected to complete at least four years of English, three years of math and two years of natural sciences and social sciences at the secondary level. Two years of foreign language is preferred but not required. Students with a 3.5 or higher GPA and exceptional academic performance may apply for early action. Dual enrollment is also available for rising high school seniors.

Morehouse applicants must submit their SAT or ACT scores along with an essay and personal statement. The essay and statement should speak to the personal triumphs and ambitions of the student.
