Zowie! Holy leitmotif, Batman! All the villain motifs and fight music from Nelson Riddle would be delightful. And the brand new flavor given by Billy May for season 3 with the wonderful theme (with lyrics!) for Yvonne Craig's Batgirl. There's so much more than what is represented on the feature movie score and the soundtrack album with the dialogue from Season 1. A lot of the music seemed tracked and repeated, so perhaps there's not as much music as one might expect from a 120 episode show. It seems to me that the 50th anniversary of the show in 2016 would be the perfect opportunity to let the Bat out of the Cave so to speak. I can even think of which label would do the best, most appropriate job. Any other citizens with me on this?

Yavar I also recall Lukas being the one who said the music for the 66' series was not worth releasing. I don't recall the exact quote, but I think he said something along the lines of the music being extremely repetitive.

Its friggin Batman for god sakes!! Opps! Sorry for misquoting you. (Edit- Not misquote since you never said it, quoted the wrong person) I'm pretty sure it was actually Lukas who commented on this board that he didn't think the TV show music was especially worthy of release, not MV... Thxs Yavar, I knew I heard it from someone.

"Isn't it just the Amok Time fight music repeated over and over for three seasons?" However, perhaps a Mission: Impossible style highlights set would be doable, if that is the case. I think the "highlights" approach is absolutely the best way to approach this show. The Mission: Impossible set is the model to follow. While it includes a great deal of variety, even by the final discs in that set I've had enough variations of "The Plot" theme to last a lifetime. I imagine it would be the same with Batman '66.

It would make more sense to do this Mission: Impossible style, or two smaller volumes at the most, with perhaps less than half an hour containing the best of his work. I can definitely understand the nostalgia factor for this, and perhaps the rights are more likely to be worked out now that there was a licensing arrangement done for the series itself. But the only Batman series for which we need every single magnificent note is the 90s animated series IMO... Yavar
